Lindsay Stanley and Jim Lambert started their partnership in 2004 when the Lambert family from Wisconsin purchased a
vineyard in the Barossa Valley. Jim, for many years, had been interested in wine drinking and Lindsay had been making
award-winning wines for over 30 years. Over a long, long lunch they agreed to a vision where quality fruit from Lambert’s
vineyard would be combined with the winemaking expertise of Lindsay. The result would be premium bottled wines to be
enjoyed by themselves, friends, and the world.

In July 2005, the changes Stanley and Lambert made were noticeable in the Barossa Valley -- from the new signs on the winery to the
new labels and some of the names on the bottles. Experts were brought in to help create a vineyard making excellent quality fruit with
the high standards set by ISO guidelines.
Stanley Lambert wines have been busy redeveloping the market in the USA, currently serving over 20 states, while retaining their
following in restaurants and markets around the world. The framework is a unique one that does not exist for any other small wine
Company in Australia. The emphasis is based on family business and getting the absolute highest quality wine to customers as directly
as possible without using the traditional channels while keep the final costs as low as possible.
Stanley Lambert produce super premium single vineyard wines including the Family Tree Shiraz and Silent Partner Cabernet along with
cult favorites
like the Choc-a-Bloc chocolate dessert wine and the Thoroughbred Cabernet.
The Stanley family has been making wines in the Barossa Valley for more than 30 years (beginning with traditions
established by Lindsay Stanley's grandfather, August Beelitz). The Lamberts
are relative newcomers who, seduced by the region's authentic nature, moved lock, stock and barrel from the USA
in 2004.
About Barossa Vineyard
The vineyard has in total about 100 acres of land on rolling hills just off the Barossa Valley floor.
and consists of 17 unique soil types and is planted around the old gum trees that are scatted all over the property.
Some of these trees are over 200 years old and very beautiful and magnificent.
Stanley Lambert's oldest vines were planted before 1960 and good records were kept.
Forty acres are currently planted with 10 varieties of grapes including Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro (Mourvedre), Riesling,
Chardonnay, Merlot, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier. Stanley Lambert also have—for fun and our
guests—8
varieties of table grapes that were planted a few years ago. In total there are over 40,000 vines that are looked after and
taken
care of on a daily basis. All the work on the vineyard is done by hand, including hand picking and hand pruning once per year.
About Barossa Valley
The Barossa Valley is located in South Australia in the driest state of the driest continent on Earth.
It was settled in the late 1800 by German immigrants escaping religious prosecution. They brought their root
stock with them. Barossa is unique in that it has never had an outbreak of phylloxera—so it is sitting on the
proverbial mother lode of old vine vineyards—some of the oldest original rootstock vineyards in the world!
Jim Lambert is farming his vineyard sustainably and using environmentally friendly practices. He is in the process of creating
an ISO Certified "Green Vineyard" (it will be one of the first in Australia).
